Pray for Daash

Everyone is concerned about ISIS’ news in Iraq and Syria. ISIS is the abbreviation of the “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria”. The name is taken from a group founded by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq in 2004 to resist the US occupation. ISIS, is also known as Daash and developed significantly, especially after the establishment of the so-called Front victory in Syria, formed in militias under the name of the Free Syrian Army to fight against Bashar Assad's regime, They soon grew more and more powerful to become one of the most powerful factions within the FSA. Later, they announced the integration of al-Qaeda branch in Syria (Al-Nusra Front) to establish ISIS in April 2013, which increased its strength and population.

Abu Omar al-Baghdadi had started the formation of armed groups named ISIS in October 2006. After his death in April 19, 2010, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was named the new leader of the organization.

ISIS became so powerful with more than 50,000 fighters in Syria and 30,000 fighters in Iraq, according to a recent report of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Then, it declared the Islamic caliphate officially on June 29, 2014, under the leadership of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

ISIS embraced powerful fighters who do not fear death. Those brutal fighters killed and slaughtered thousands of innocent people in order to seize their land believing they do something good to God!

Note: I don’t think that Egypt is in danger because of ISIS as such fanatic ideology is totally rejected by the majority of the Egyptians, and the Egyptian army is able to protect its lands as it always do.

Last but not least, I believe that ISIS and its fighters are in bad need for deep prayers that they know God who is able to change their hearts. Such prayers may do a lot. So, let us pray for them.
