11 Muslim Brotherhood members acquitted in Minya

The Misdemeanour Court in Minya issued a verdict Sunday to acquit 11 Muslim Brotherhood members accused of rioting and violence in Minya, Upper Egypt, said Brotherhood spokeswoman Wafaa El-Banna.

In July, Minya Criminal Court acquitted 91 that were arrested following the dispersal of the pro-Morsi sit-in at Rabaa Al-Adaweya on 14 August 2013 and accused of rioting, attacking public and private facilities and possession of weapons.

The latest verdict followed the anniversary of Rabaa sit-in dispersal last Thursday, during which police arrested 193 people, as alleged Brotherhood members attempted to “block roads” and “fire live ammunition”, according to the Ministry of Interior.
