Baradei sets up pro-change front
Mohamed ElBaradie, the former chief of the UN atomic watchdog, has said he will lead a front composed of different political powers in Egypt, to press for change and effect social justice.

Emerging from a meeting with several activists from across Egypt's political spectrum on Tuesday, ElBaradei said that the front would be open to all Egyptians and would also aim at  introducing democratic changes in the country.
The activists whom ElBaradei, an ex-diplomat, met in his house near Cairo on Tuesday included Hamdi el-Katatni, a member of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood and a member of Parliament. Opposition dissident Ayman Nour also attended.
"The front will set up a preparatory committee to press for guarantees for free elections," said ElBaradei, who had earlier signalled readiness to run for president. ElBaradei, a Noble Peace Prize winner, has conditioned his candidacy for presidency on guarantees that the elections will be honest and free.
