A security source in North Sinai said 10 extremists were arrested Friday and a bomb was defused in Sheikh Zuwaied.
One of the arrested smuggled weapons between Sinai and Gaza, the source added.
The bomb was defused south of Sheikh Zuwaied after citizens reported a strange object on the roadside, he said.
The security source mentioned that the bomb targeted security forces who were supposed to comb the road in a crackdown Friday.
