CAIRO: A meeting between the Nour Party, Salafi Call, and Al-Azhar discussed the campaign to promote voting “yes” in the referendum on the draft constitution, said secretary for Nour Party in Alexandria Abdullah Badran.
Badran told Youm7 the meeting discussed ways the Nour Party and Al-Azhar pushed for the 50-member committee to keep constitution articles that deal with Islamic identity.
According to Badran, Grand Imam of Al–Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb thanked the Nour Party for its efforts to urge people to vote by “yes“ on the constitution, and the Salafi Call and Al–Azhar hope to end the transitional period in order to reach stability.
