European Union of Copts Organizations for Human Rights (EUCOHR) denounced the ruling concerning Khosous sectarian incidents, in which the Coptic Christian defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined thousands of dollars, while all Muslim defendants were acquitted.
The judge had ignored the testimony of 7 witnesses and only considered the police report, which is accused of complicity.
EUCOHR demanded the Egyptian government to open investigation concerning this case and others, in which the victims are punished twice by the aggressors as well as the state. Yet, the aggressors are happily acquitted!
