Nour party chair says ‘worst election’ ever

Of the former party strongholds of Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, and Beheira, the party only mustered a majority in Marsa Matrouh, garnereing 23,000 votes over rival party list “For the Love of Egypt.”
 
During the previous parliamentary elections 2011-2012, which followed the January 25 Revolution, the Nour Party won 24.36 percent of the parliamentary seats, coming in second after the  Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party.
 
The second round of the elections is scheduled for Nov. 22 and 23 for domestic Egyptians in the governorates of Cairo, Qalubia, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai. Meanwhile Egyptians outside Egypt will vote on Nov. 21 and 22.
