Magdi Hegazy, the Ministry of Health’s undersecretary in Dakahlia, confirmed on Thursday that five ambulances were directed to the Mohammed Abu Al-Lil Preparatory School at Manshyet el-Salam region to transfer  44 students after they were struck by states of panic and anxiety due to the sound bomb explosion inside the school yard, Youm7 reported.

The injured students were transferred to the Tammy al-Emdid Public Hospital to receive the required treatment, Hegazy said, pointing out that the cases ranged between nervous breakdowns and hypertension.

“All of the injured students received the required treatments and examinations and left the hospital,” Hegazy said.

Dakahlia was victim to another major attack when the Dakahlia Security Directorate was exposed to a car bomb on Dec. 24, 2013, leading the former Cabinet of Hazem al-Beblawy to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

The attack resulted in the death of 16 people and the injury of more than 132 people, as well as major damages to the directorate, the National Theatre and the surrounding area, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.

Further, in a third attack, a police officer was fatally shot s in the head in front of Dakahlia governorate headquarters at the beginning of March.
