Nasr City Prosecution referred 40 members of the Muslim Brotherhood to the misdemeanor court for rioting and engaging in violent activities during the third anniversary of the 25 January revolution.
The suspects were accused of rioting, thuggery, staging a march without permission from the Interior Ministry, possessing weapons and Molotov cocktails, joining terrorist group, resisting authorities, damaging public properties and blocking roads.
Clashes erupted between the Muslim Brotherhood, residents and security. Brotherhood members allegedly hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at people and security troops, who responded by firing teargas bombs to disperse them. They suspects were arrested and referred to prosecution for investigations.
