His Grace Bishop Wisa of Baliana arrived yesterday at New York international airport accompanied by Father Poulos Atedf and was received at the airport by Father Stephen Bishara and a number of Coptic residents in America.

Abba Markos, Archbishop of Shubra al-Khaimah, inaugurated today the alter of the church of St. Anthony in Basos. During the Holy Mass, 68 deacons were ordained in the rank of Ebsaltus (chanter) and 52 were promoted to the rank of Oghnostos (reader).

His Grace Bishop Sharaubim of Qena ordained dozens of deacons at the basic rank of Ebsaluts (translated chanter) at the church of St. Demiana in Qena. This came during celebrating the Holy Mass at the church after he had ordained a number of deacons at St. Mary church in Taramsa village last week.

St. George in Dishna held a Seminar on the Constitutional Amendments and its importance in the presence of Dr. Khaled Flip, Secretary of citizenship in the province, and a number of senior officials and clergy. The seminar assured the importance of participation in the referendum.

His Holiness Bishop Barnabas of Turin and Rome met with Catholic Bishop of Frascati in Italy. After the meeting, he attended the Holy Liturgy at the Church of the Archangel Michael in Frascati 30 km south-west of Rome.

His Grace Bishop Joaquim of Isna and Armant presided over the Holy Mass of the Feast of the Good Annunciation at st. George Church in West Luxor. The construction of the first phase of the Church was completed after the permits were issued by the governor of Luxor.

Qus bishopric held a celebration after the return of Bishop Bemen of Qus and Naqada who returned from a two months medical journey. The congregation attended the celebration and congratulated the bishop on his recovery.

Bishop Isaac of Tima celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday with 5000 mother of the diocese at the monastery of St. Yassa Michael. During the celebration, 5 new nuns were ordained for the ministry in the diocese. He distributed souvenirs to 5000 ladies who attended the cleebration.

His Grace Bishop Markos of Shubra Al-Khaymah inspected today a number of churches in the diocese accompanied by Bishops Paisle and Gregory, the general Bishops in South America. They visited St. Mary Church in Mostorord and St. George Church in Qalioub. The visit was recorded and covered by a number of Coptic Channels.

HG Bishop Bernaba Bishop of Turin and Rome visited the Church of St. Anthony in Genoa, 500 km northwest of the city of Rome, in a pastoral care visit. Bishop Bernaba celebrated the holy mass with the congregation of the church in the presence of Father Nicolaus of St. Anthony monastery.

Under the patronage of His Holiness Bishop Sharobim of Qena, the Diocese is organizing a spiritual renaissance to celebrate the Feast of Pope Kyrillos IV. The spiritual program includes daily masses and spiritual gatherings lasting for one week.

Tima diocese announced to hold the first year anniversary of the late Bishop Fam on February 23 at the Cathedral of St. Fam, and on Gebruary 25th at the monastery of St. Yassa Michael. The shrine of the late Bishop will be opened after renovation and development on Sunday evening.

His Grace Bishop Takla of Dishna inaugurated today the vessels of the church of Archangel Michael in Abu Manaa, Dishna. The holy mass was attended by a number of clergy and the congregation of the church.

His Grace Bishop Tadros of Port Said, ordained dozens of deacons at the Cathedral of St. Mary and Archangel Michael in Port Said. The new deacons were ordained at the basic rank of Ebsaltus which is translated chanter.

His Grace Bishop Barnabas of Rome and Turin, held the Holy Mass in Italy in the presence of Bishop Bakhoum of Suhag who is currently visiting Rome in a pastoral care visit. Later, the two bishops held a meeting with the congregation of the church of St. Mina and St. Cyril in Rome.

Church of St. Philopatir and St. Mina in Tima organized a Carnival of the Seven Sacraments for the children. The shows and workshops introduced the idea of the Sacraments in the Coptic Orthodox Churches.

His Grace Bishop Makar of Sharqia and 10th of Ramadan City traveled to Canada in a pastoral care visit. Pope Tawadros II had assigned Bishop Makar to supervise a number of churches in Canada.

Feast of the Martyr Abu Fam was celebrated by the congregation and clergy in his church in Tima. St. Abe-Fam, the Soldier, was martyred (Bifam or Phoebammon). He was born in Oseem (Awsim) to a wealthy father whose name was Anastasius, and a righteous mother whose name was Susanna. They brought him up in the Christian faith. He grew up in the fear of God, merciful to the poor, and steadfast in prayer and fasting. His parents wanted him to get married, but he declined. When Emperor Diocletian reigned and knew that this saint did not raise incense to the gods, the Emperor sent to the governor Arianus to torture St. Abe-Fam if he did not offer incense to the idols. Arianus went to Oseem and when he saw the saint he said, "Peace be with you," and the saint replied, "Why do you speak the word of peace? Did you not know that peace is only for the righteous?" and "there is no peace for the wicked, says the Lord." (Isaiah 48:22) The Governor became extremely angry and took the Saint to Qaw where he tortured him severely, then beheaded him. The Saint received the crown of martyrdom. God honored this saint by performing many miracles through his body.

His Grace Bishop Tadeurs of Port Said inaugurated the holy vessels of the alter of the Cathedral of St. Mary and Archangel Michael. The celebration was attended by the clergy and congregation of the Cathedral.

HG Bishop Cyril, General Bishop of Los Angeles in America, celebrated the Liturgy of the Divine Mass at the Church of the Great Martyr St. George in Rome, Italy. After the Holy Mass, HG met with the youth of the Church and gave a spiritual lecture after the Divine Liturgy and then met with the congregation of the Church.

Metropolitan Tadeurs, Archbishop of Port Said, concluded his pastoral care visit to Australia by celebrating the holy mass at the church of St. Mark in Arncliffe. Later the bishop headed to the airport to depart to Cairo and return to his diocese.
