In a new broadcast, ISIS terrorist group published a new video to threaten the Copts in Egypt and invite its supporters to attack them. The new broadcast used old footages from previous attacks against the Copts.

Mansour Mohannady, Qatari opposition member, accused the Qatari government of being responsible for several terrorist attacks in Egypt, including the very recent one against Copts in Minya.

Father Mina Ibrahim, the Coptic Orthodox Priest in Melbourne, Australia, departed today after 43 years of priesthood ministry. He was ordained by Pope Shenouda III on August 22, 1974.

A Coptic woman called Nadra Jaber was slain in her house at Ezbet al-Nakhl area in Cairo. Her hair was cut after she was killed and the Christian icons in her house were torn apart which may indicate that she was called for her faith. Police were reported and the matter is currently under ingestion, but her family complains police are not interested in the case and no serious investigation was opened.

At the anniversary of 28 Coptic martyrs of St. Samuel monastery in Minya, Abba Agathon, Bishop of Maghagha and Adwa, said that our martyrs witnessed to their faith till the last moments and gave a lesson to the terrorists that they have strong and vivid faith.

Abba Aghathos, Bishop of Maghagha and Adwa ordained 9 new priests for the ministry in the dioceses. The new priests are Father Tobia Fayes, Father Ghobrial Farahat, Father Isaac Gamal, Father Moussa Isaac, Father Eshiaa Amir, Father Bemen Magdy, Father Hedra Boshra, Father Tadrous Said and Father Youacim Aziz.

Abba Julius, Bishop of Ancient Egypt Churches, said that the love of the Lord is not only expressed by fasting and prayers, but through loving him by all ones heart and strength as well as by loving our neighbors. He also praised the role of the National Council for Women in serving the homeland and promoting the history of Egypt and its civilization.

At the celebration of the forty days anniversary of the martyrs of St. Samuel monastery terrorist attack, women were expected to put on black garments to express their grief according to the middle eastern traditions. However, families of the martyrs decided to put on white garments instead of the black in order to express their happiness for the martyrs who departed to stay with Christ.

Abba Pfnotious, Bishop of Samalut, ordained 36 new deacons of the church of St. Cyril in Samida village. The ordination was held at Samalout diocese’ headquarter.

Representatives from Christian denominations visited Lebanon for three days from July 24 to 26 to participate in a joint prayer.

Military funeral was held today for the Coptic soldier Wassim Mofied who was killed in terrorist attack on an armored vehicle of the armed forces in Sinai. The funeral was held at the church of St. Mary in Dir Mawas.

Firefighters extinguished huge fire at the Coptic diocese in Samallout. The fire was resulted from a gas cooker explosion because of the high temperature. No injuries were reported in the accident.

Pope Tawadros II is holding a meeting with families of ministers of the Gulf countries who are staying in Egypt on July 31. The meeting will be held at the great Cathedral f St. Mark from 11 am to 1 pm.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, said at a joint press conference in Budapest following talks with Egypt’s president Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, that stability of Egypt supports stability in Europe. He added that Egypt could have been in the Syrian shoes without president Abdul Fattah al-Sisi.

Abba Agathon, Bishop of Moghagha and Adwa, said he is preparing a book to confront the heresy of homosexuals’ marriage. This came after 20 countries legalized this marriage through its parliaments, which contradicts with Christian faith according to the bishop. He added that the new book will be translated into several languages.

Lawyer Hussein Hassan filed a lawsuit against Abba Markus, Bishop of Shoubra al-Khaymah, accusing him of contempt of Islam. The bishop had said in television interview that those who don’t believe in Christ are infidels according to Christian faith.

Sources in the Coptic Church said that Pope Tawadros II is going to participate in the 40th day anniversary of the martyrs of St. Samuel monastery on Sunday and Monday.

3 new monks were ordained today at the monastery of Abba Moussa the black in Almain in the presence of Bishop Markus, Bishop Matawes, Bishop Dawood, and Bishop Abephanios.

Iraqi forces seized al-Nuri Mosque, where ISIS was declared by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi three years ago. Haidar al-Abbadi, the Iraqi prime minister, announced the end of the terrorist organization after the takeover of al-Nuri mosque in Mosul. He stressed that they will pursue the terrorist organization until the last element in Iraq.

Abba Makarious, bishop of Minya, dedicated the meeting held today to pray for the increasing prices. The second round of fuel price increase would make Egyptians struggle even more in attempts to cope with the new price hikes.
