Abba Paula, Bishop of Tanta, and representative of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the 50-memebers committee to amend 2012 constitution said he left the meeting of the committee to express his anger after the identity articles were passed against provisions of the Constitutional Court and without discussing them.
He explained that these identity articles are likely to consider Christians as infidels and second degree citizens. Moreover, he who kills a Christian may not be judged according to Dr. Saad el-Dein Helaly, professor in Al-Azhar University.
