Why did Tantawi hand Egypt over to Morsi, Badie and Shater?

Since the very beginning of the revolution against Mubarak's regime, it was crystal clear that Field Marshal Tantawy is ready to do anything to please Muslim Brotherhood. He asked them to meet with Omar Suleiman, former vice-president by the time of the revolution, to negotiate their demands. Then, Tantawi choose a number of MB leaders to write the constitutional declaration.

Later, many people demanded drafting the new constitution before holding the parliamentary elections, but Tantawi and MB have decided to do the opposite.

After dissolving the parliament, we shouldn't have hastened to hold the presidential elections, but they did hasten, and Morsi has won unexpectedly and suspiciously, however Shafik was said to win. Thus, MB has seized over Egypt 18 months after Mubarak was overthrown with the help of Field Marshal Tantawi.

An important question here would be: Why did Tantawi hand Egypt over to Morsi and MB? Is this because he is one of them? Or because he knew that after Mubarak, MB was the only institution that’s able to challenge or even kill him? Is it because America has forced him to do so in order to achieve their plans in Egypt as well as the Middle East.

I believe that it wasn't a mere coincidence that brought MB in power, but rather it was planned carefully. I doubt not that USA and European countries have helped MB a lot.

In all cases, it was a disaster to hand Egypt over to the fanatic Islamists. They are dictators even more than the former regime, in addition to their retarded thoughts and ideas.
