Many Facebook users have shared a video for sheik Wagdy Ghoneim in which he encourages the female circumcision. He started by assuring that Egypt is a secular country that works against Islam.
He said that the prohibition of female circumcision in Egypt is a disaster, as the Islam supports it, and he likened it to a plastic surgery.
It’s worth mentioning that female circumcision is a matter of debate now in Egypt, especially after Freedom and Justice Party have started medical convoys to perform many female circumcisions in Minya governorate.
MP Azza al-Garaf , FJP member, on her Twitter account said that Sharia doesn’t prohibit female circumcision as it aims at saving and honoring the girls.
