Brotherhood to join political forces in 'Saving The Revolution' Friday

The Muslim Brotherhood announced on its official website Monday it will return to Cairo's Tahrir Square for the third Friday in a row to participate in "Saving the Revolution" million man protest on 27 April, joining many political forces, parties and coalitions.

Mahmoud Hussein, the Brotherhood's secretary general, announced in their online press statement  that the decision to return to the streets was part of a "series of events" planned so that "Egyptian citizens express their resolve to protect the revolution, to not allow the ruling military council to hand over power after 30 June 2012 or to re-establish despotic rule."

Last Friday, the Brotherhood joined hundreds of thousands of protesters who flocked to the flashpoint square to participate in "Self Determination Friday" million-man protest. It was the biggest demonstration representing the widest spectrum of political powers in Egypt since the January 25 Revolution anniversary celebrations.

"Self Determination Friday" also demanded the end of the military regime and a ban on Mubarak-era presidential candidates.

The Friday before the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafist Front had called tens of thousands of mainly Islamist protesters to Cairo's Tahrir Square under the slogan, "the only demand - together against the remnants of the former regime."
