Omar Suleiman supporters in Qena: Why don’t we let electors decide!

The campaign to support General Omar Suleiman for presidency in Qena has issued a statement condemning the parliament being busy passing legislation to serve the goals of a certain group aiming at taking over the president’s office. The statement wondered why this law is only issued after the nomination of General Omar Suleiman while no action was taken when others of the former regime like Ahmed Shafik and Amr Moussa were nominated before.

The campaign confirmed that Muslim Brotherhood fear Omar Suleiman for his wide popularity all over Egypt.

The statement stressed that the Parliament doesn’t care if Egypt needs a powerful president, and this law has a bad reputation as it’s made for to prevent one person, and this way of passing legislation should be refused.

Campaign’s coordinator Mohammed Afifi demanded for letting the electors pick whoever they want like what happened in the parliamentary elections instead of playing such games.
