Egypt premier denies tension with UAE

RIYADH - Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf denied tension in the relations between his country and the UAE.

In a statement following his arrival in Riyadh, Sharaf said: “There is no problem between Egypt and the UAE and my visit will be rescheduled later.”
He was speaking on the wake of the postponement of his visit to the UAE and reaffirmed that the security of GCC countries is part of Egypt’s security.
Sharaf described Egypt-GCC relations as historic, saying: “We have historic relations with the GCC countries and interference in their domestic affairs is a red line.”
Speaking of the rapprochement with Iran, Sharaf said: “ We want to turn a new page in our relations with Iran, but do not accept interference in GCC’s domestic affairs.”
