Dr. Jaber Asfour, former Egyptian Minister of Culture, said in a television interview, that Al-Azhar is an enemy of renewal of religious discourse.
He added that the greater Imam of Al-Azhar is an enlightened person, but the rest of Al-Azhar is not enlightened and hates the idea of renewal of religious discourse.
Asfour explained that Salafis are the second greatest enemies of renewal of religious discourse.
