Ministers Salaries and Pension

It seems that the Egyptian Government cares very much about each Ministrys salary and pension. There are more than 90 millions every-day Egyptians who suffer from weak salaries and weak pensions.

Lately, the Egyptian Parliament has been in discussions about the monthly salary for Ministers, which was determined to be at $42,000 monthly. The Parliament agreed that this salary range is weak in comparison to the standard of living in Egypt.

The question we have here is, if the Government considers $42,000 weak considering the standard of living, then what can be said about the 90 million Egyptians with their salaries barely surpassing $2000 a month?

Do Ministries have the right to live better than any other Egyptian? Every single Egyptian is asking what any Minister did differently to deserve that amount of money. There is an overwhelming opinion that this problem has no solution, and no progress towards one.

In conclusion, I want to emphasize the fact that the Parliament is supposed to take care of the nations best interest, not the interests of the Ministers only.
