PARIS- President Hosni Mubarak Monday meets his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy on peacemaking in the Middle East, a senior Egyptian official has said.

"President Mubarak is well-informed of the situation in the region. Egypt maintains contacts with different parties.
So it is important to exchange views and consultations about efforts for peace," added Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed
Mubarak arrived in Paris Sunday evening from Algiers where he made a brief visit to offer condolences to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on his brother's death. Mubarak and Sarkozy met last month in Nice during a Franco-African summit.
