Observatory of Takfiri Fatawa and extremist views of the Fatwa House issued a statement to condemn targeting Coptic Christians in Sinai by ISIS and assured the attacks aim to destroy national unity.
Dozens of Coptic Christian families in Egypt have fled North Sinai province after at least 7 were killed in recent weeks by suspected Islamist militants after leaflets calling to kill the Copts were distributed in the city of Arish.
Statement of the observatory said that Islam is innocent of such terrorist attacks.
ISIS has claimed responsibility of attacking St. Peter Coptic Orthodox church in Cairo, and called to kill the Copts which was described by analysts as attempt to confirm its presence in Egypt and to restore its prestige after several attacks by the Egyptian army against the terrorist organization.
