Abouna Morcos Moones; we will miss you

Every day in the morning we wake up very active and very hopeful. We start our day by taking breakfast, going to our work, chatting with our friends and back to home after long day of being exhausted, trying to relax and eat our supper together before time for sleeping come while watching TV.

We are doing that every day, hoping and feeling that the future will be better and we believe that we will live longer to see our dreams coming true in front of our eyes.

When we hear about accident here or there or when we know by chance that one we know have died, we try to feel sorry about him and say “God have Mercy on him “, God give patience to the family”, “we will all die”, also we might think little bit about repent and stop doing the bad things we were doing for a while.

While we are saying these words and trying to stop our bad behaviours, we still feel that death is still away of us and not close. And you might argue with yourself saying that I’m still young or I’m very healthy, and even you might say to yourself that God loves me and will not allow that to happen in the near time, however, two or three days after someone die, we back to our routine and think about dreams again.

Lately, I lost one of my best friends, who I was setting with him at the same desk in the school. We spent amazing days together in the school and outside of the school. We get used to play soccer together, play chess and be in the same church.

He was very polite and innocent. He was always smiling and laughs. Meet every one with smile on his face. Very close to the church. Love songs and mass. Never miss a day without attending the church and the mass. While I was away of the church, he was count the days to attend the next mass and next Allhan lesson.
Many times, he was in the church before the priest himself, preparing the church and he get used to wake me up many times to go with him to the church in “ Masr Al Kadima”

After our college, I was a way of the church for a lot of time, while he never left the church or the mass, or Alhan lesson, to teach after he was learning before.

Before Leaving Egypt, I met him twice and we chat about our life and I knew that he got married and he got a baby girl, her name is Jessica. We tried to refresh our memories and talk about church, work and everything we can in that time we have met by chance.

After that, what was a confidence, the same month I left Egypt, was the same Month he ordinated to be a priest. I was expecting him to be a priest even before being a priest. Even when My Mom told me “Guess who became a priest” I told her immediately the name and he was my friend “ Magdy Mooenes” who ordinated with the name of “ Abouna Morcos”.

On Last Tuesday, My Mom also told me that he just passed away and no one can believe that including me, I still don’t believe that he passed away. I’m still shocked and can’t believe that he passed away.
Here we might wonder the will of God and ask why not me, and why him, and also you might say the death is still away of you but  be careful, death never away of any one and can come sudden and without any reason.
I still remember all my memories with him and will never forget his smile or his words. I wish he pray for us and for me especially as he was doing on the earth.
