Egypt re-asks 80 countries to reclaim smuggled money

Egypt has renewed its requests to 80 countries, including the European countries, to reclaim its smuggled money, which worth at $1.526 billion, Youm7 reported Tuesday.

The government is seeking to reclaim the smuggled money and frozen assets that belong to former President Hosni Mubarak, his two sons, and 19 of his men.

Youm7 reported that the government has asked some European countries to transport the frozen assets to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) where they will be kept frozen until the end of the owner’s trials over charges of stealing the public money.
