Minya’s governor should pay allegiance to Al-Baghdadi, researcher

Egyptian researcher Sayed Al-Qemny expressed his resentment over the sectarian incident witnessed in Upper Egypt’s Minya governorate, Copts United News website reported on Monday.

Minya’s village Tahna Al Jabal witnessed sectarian clashes between Muslims and Christians against the backdrop of a scrimmage between the priest’s son and a number of young Muslims, leading to the killing of one person and injury of three others.

Qemny added, on his Facebook account, that Minya governor should pay allegiance to Abu-Bakr Al- Baghdadi, while turning Minya into a state in the Islamic State (IS).

“Do you remember Imbaba State,” Qemni asked, adding, “We move towards the end.”

In 1992, Giza’s Imbaba district turned into a military barrack, as over 10 thousand soldiers and armored vehicles besieged the slum to arrest the extremists, led by Jaber Al-Tabal who turned the district into his own manor. They controlled the lives of people and imposed extremist rules on its residents. They forced the women to wear Niqab and the Copts to close their shops.
