In the past few weeks following my return to Egypt as I was furious on what happened to me and not wanting to write about it I was avoiding to write or trying to be brief in my articles not to talk about UK immigration officers, I'm not going to speak about it yet but I'll go back to my usual way of writing and analysing event, and as a start I have to point out that writing weekly articles makes me feel like a press personal or author which puts me in the same category president El-Sisi was complaining about!
In fact journalists and TV media presenters their main job is to let the public know about events the good as well the bad they have to cover all type of news, political, social, sports, arts or what so ever interests the people; this is their main function to tell the facts as is not to invent events or concentrate on fake or bad facts!
Obviously when the president complained he meant those who keep spreading lies or the bad side of news, so other media people tried in a self defence to pinpoint to the fact that some bad news are there and it is their job to tell people about them like they do with good and bright news!
Any way I'll say like President Holand I'll stand by the very last nail that keeps Egypt up!
I'll talk about the visits of Bavarian Economy team, followed by the French President then German economist delegation all looking for more collaboration with Egypt, not to forget Saudi Arabia King before or the other world leaders of economy or policies preceded those, which means International attention focused on Egypt! Did any one ask himself WHY?
Unfortunately some people see are the negative aspects but the worst is that they request to halt collaboration with Egypt that is loosing grounds and falling!!
What I try to say here, and said it before, is that for generations and generations we lived in lies, corruptions, people of power, not physical power but the power of money, the power of titles and positions, positions inherited by families or nominated for distinct services then it become a heritage, even later when ex-president Nasser tried to abolish titles like Pasha or Beck his associates the free officers that helped him become the president but were less fortunate to win a title or position of honour created their own titles and gave themselves powers so that they remain the distinct class that stole confiscated fortunes of ex-royal families or hi class people!
I know for a fact the intentions of R.I.P. Nasser were noble he was not corrupted he did not use his position to get richer but he wanted equality and fare conditions of living for all Egyptians but the surrounding people were not all as noble some of them (without names) used the circumstances that put them in positions of power used their power to get richer at the expense of the people of Egypt in general, by coincidence or planned -seeing other getting through- they start thieving rich people from the royal family that fled the country fearing another bloody revolution like the French Jacobian Revolution that ended up with the guillotine they were not satisfied beheading Marie Antoinette or Lewis the XVI, so in the 23rd of July 1952 revolution many followers of the royal family left the country so their fortunes become available, and true a lot of this confiscated fortunes were nationalized that is they become the government's property like Abdeen Palace that become the presidential office, but many of them as well were ripped of jewellery and liquid money never reported just furniture or Antiques and who would know that you counted 200 LE not what you said it was just 50 LE!
Again these rich people were just 1/2% of the then Egypt's population almost 20 million, an easy money goes easier so on the long run they needed more and more money and to achieve that those 10-15 persons that decided to become centre of power hired or associated with others for help the bigger the team the more powerful and more money needed to cover their expenses and profits and more corruption spread across the country to make poor people poorer!
Obviously to keep going with corruption under the nose or other powerful guys including the president suppression of freedom and human rights to keep people mouse shut was a means SO I can not blame people that lived for generations and generations in poverty and scared to complain, for loosing their faith in the people in charge!
As if this was not enough to increase people fears new factors suppressed more and more the freedom that is Nasser's turn over the Muslim Brotherhood in a self defence after 2 unsuccessful attempts to kill him though he originally was a Muslim Brotherhood member and a bright student of Hassan El Bana that mourned the death of his professor and spiritual leader that was almost like a God Father to him; that means same principals and the desire to control regardless of the rank in that Muslim Brotherhood he was not the General Guide therefore he -the general guide- expected that Nasser would keep him as a leader but actually Nasser personality would not accept any superiority over him he did got rid of Mohamed Naguib to take over leadership no way he would be under the command of the General Guide! May be this could be a key factor for specialists to study how Nasser become Anti-Muslim Brotherhood and imprisoned them but kept the tree underground never really tried to eradicate the tree from its roots! He kept the spirit people who used to drive around listening to F arid El Atrash or Abd El Halim songs start listening to Islamic Priests of hate they appointed themselves as guardians of hell and heaven, you will go to hell and he will be welcome in heaven what President El-Sisi recently said: “My Islam is better than yours...” was the start of great doubts as young generations that still need guidance took speeches that required verification as facts and the main principal of Hassan El Bana (CONFUSION) spread!
As this was not enough, being a Muslim Brotherhood member was a crime Nasser decided to put in jail, with the new friendship with the then one of the top powers in the world the soviet union and its decision to help Nasser fortify his army and help him in the Hi Dam project that USA refused to finance Soviet experts spread in Egypt either an army advisor or an engineer helper and communist people filled Egypt it become another phenomenon like a self-defence from the twisted minds of Muslim Brotherhood to become a communist and communist equals being atheist! And as the phenomenon spread it become another reason to fill the prisons with both Muslim Brotherhood and Communists and Egypt start being Atheists and Muslims, Christians and Jews!
More freedom constrains and it become a crime being either Muslim Brotherhood member or a Communist member both would end up in JAIL!
When generations and generations lived raised and survived all that add to it they did live in grave yards as their parents could not afford to rent a house or there were no houses for rent when our population multiplied in a geometric sequence not mathematical -slower speed- to reach from less than 20 millions to over 90 millions! Moreover, those guys survived all that and graduated from respectful collages to face another obstacle the difficulty to get a job or even complete their studies for higher degrees!
I did survive all that but I can not blame those who lost faith in this country they never saw a bright day in it why should they love it? However, for the first time I see a real Egyptian caring about Egypt and responded to the Egyptians who called him for help and really tries his best to keep Egypt on its feet, the feet that many others tried continuously to break to make from Egypt another Syria or Libya however because God blessed only Egypt they could not break its feet!
Yes there are lot of broken links and the thousand miles trip starts with the first step but we need to keep going for all the thousand miles if we want to reach our target do not expect to be there after a few steps what had fall down will stand up by itself! We are all in that together and I still have confidence that God's blessing to Egypt and Egyptians will never stop; Peace of the Lord be with you all!
