Egyptian newspaper “The Seventh Day” launched a website to measure the credibility of news published about Egypt in international media including BBC, CNN, RUETERS and Associated Press. It said that the news published about Egypt were not accurate and there were much more news about Egypt than Turkey and Qatar.
In fact, it’s a nice idea to listen to what is being said about Egypt in the West. However, the problem is that we will only listen without actually listening to reason. We may keep accusing the world of targeting Egypt, but we have to realize that we are not always right and the world is not always wrong.
We do face a critical situation in which denying our problems and accusing the world of targeting us won’t really help solving them. There is no solution to our problems away from hard working, fixing education and respecting the law. Those three steps are key elements to solve our accumulating problems. The people have to work and cooperate with the government to fix the very bad situation here. Yet, the real problem is that neither the government nor the people have the motivation to do so.
