Russian Parliament said that friendship initiatives should be taken by the Turkish government to support the relation between the two countries.
Sergei Gavrilov, member of the Russian Parliament, said that Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople may be a good start, and Turkey should return it to the Orthodox Church.
The old church was turned into a mosque by the Turkish people, and then into a museum.
Gavrilov added that Russia is ready to financially support the project to restore the old church.
