Coptic Orthodox Church announced that Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, returned to Egypt after he attended the funeral of the Holy Bishop of Jerusalem Abba Abraham in the holy land.
This visit sparked a major controversy in Egyptian media over the past few days, due to former decision by the Coptic church to ban visiting Jerusalem.
The late Bishop had departed last Wednesday after suffering from several diseases. He departed at the age of 73 after spending 24 years as Coptic bishop of the Holy City.
