President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will meet Wednesday with General Lloyd Austin, commander of the U.S. Central Command, and the accompanying delegation to discuss regional and international developments, said the presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef in a statement Wednesday.
The meeting is scheduled to tackle several issues of common concern in light of the U.S.-Egyptian strategic relations, according to the statement.
Egyptian generals and the acting U.S. ambassador will attend the talks.
On Tuesday, Austin met with Egypt’s Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi and discussed a number of issues related to military relations and cooperation.
