A Molotov cocktail accidently started a Qalyubia fire, and an abundant amount of benzene and explosives in the flat helped the blaze grow in Abou Za’bal village of Khanka city north east of Cairo. Firefighters extinguished the fire, and those injured were escorted by the police to a hospital.

A sales representative, 35, and a commerce student, 21 were killed in the fire. An engineer, 27, and two other men in their late twenties were injured, along with a 35-year-old housewife.

Two other men were killed earlier Tuesday in Fayoum south west of Cairo, after an explosive device in their possession detonated while they were riding a motorcycle. The incident took place near a police station, according to Youm7.

One of the two has been identified as a 26-year-old worker; the identification of the other body is underway.

Amid hundreds of incidents of arson and bombings in Egypt since the 2013 ouster of President Mohamed Morsi, murdering both policemen and civilians, a number of people were killed while perpetrating the attacks.

In the same context, the police seized a shop used for manufacturing explosives in the Delta’s Gharbia governorate Monday and a Sharqia (Delta) plastics factory in January after discovering tons of explosives inside.
