Sisi urges

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi called for "revamping religious speech in accordance with the tolerant Islamic religion" during a Thursday speech celebrating the birth of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

Sisi spoke during a celebration organised by Egypt’s ministry of endowments, reported state-run news agency MENA.

The president reportedly stressed the importance of “finding genuine religious speech” which would be consistent with the modern times.

Next Saturday marks the birth anniversary of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, a widely celebrated day by Egyptians.
