Sisi concludes brief visit to Jordan

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi left Jordan on Thursday evening after meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II.

Sisi had arrived to Jordan earlier on Thursday in a brief, unannounced, visit. He explored means of fostering relations between the two countries in different fields, and discussed the recent regional developments with King Abdullah.

Jordan views "sister" Egypt as an important and essential state in its Arab and regional sphere, and is keen on coordinating with Egypt on issues of mutual concern in way that serves Arab solidarity and joint Arab action, state-run MENA quoted King Abdullah as saying.

Sisi expressed Egypt's appreciation of Jordan's support to Egypt and its people, and the role Jordan plays in serving the causes of the Arab  world.

His unannounced visit comes shortly after the heads of states met at the presidential palaceresidential palace in Cairo on November 30, during a short visit for King Abdullah to Egypt.

Sisi and King Abdullah discussed possible means of "fighting terrorism" during their meeting, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef in a statement. They stressed the importance of uniting the efforts of Arab and Islamic countries to achieve this goal.
