Man killed planting bomb on railway tracks is a Muslim Brotherhood group leader: MOI
A man who died in car explosion on the railway tracks of the Fayoum-Beni Suef line on Saturday night is a Muslim Brotherhood local group leader Mohamed Abdul Moneim, claimed the Ministry of the Interior in a Sunday statement.

Upon arriving at the site of the blast, police found the charred body of an unidentified man. A preliminary inspection of the site indicated the individual killed himself by accident while planting an explosive device, according to the interior ministry statement.

The ministry claimed they had carried out DNA tests to identify the burned body and discovered that it was Mohamed Abdul Moneim, allegedly a Muslim Brotherhood group leader born in 1990, living in the neighbourhood of Wasta in Bein Seuf.

Small explosive devices have become increasingly common in Egypt over the past several months. A bomb exploded on a train in Menufiya governorate on 6 November, killing four people and injuring eight.

The Muslim Brotherhood has repeatedly denied that it engages in violence and has condemned terrorist attacks.
