The Supreme Administrative Court in Cairo issued the ruling on Saturday in response to several lawsuits that accused FJP of involvement in illegal acts, judicial sources said.

The verdict is irreversible and cannot be appealed.

FJP was licensed in June 2011- four months after a popular uprising forced president Hosny Mubarak to step down.

Egyptian authorities launched a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood in July 2013 after the army deposed president Mohammed Morsi, a senior leader in the Islamist group.

In December, the government designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation, blaming it for deadly violence.

The group has repeatedly denied any link to violence, accusing authorities of oppression.
