There are new efforts to find political solution for the current situation in Egypt, National Alliance to Support Legitimacy member Mohamed Ali Beshr said, according to Anadolu Agency Monday.
“The efforts are through mediators who are close to the current government,” he said but did not reveal any more detail. He did indicate that the mediations are still incomplete.
“The past few days may have witnessed a new offer to mediate with the current power and there is compatibility in the alliance but the other side is not serious enough,” general secretary of Independence Party Magdy Korkor told Youm7 Tuesday.
The National Alliance to Support Legitimacy announced calls to protest against the nomination of Field Marshal Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on March 27, BBC reported.
On March 28, they stated on their Facebook page what they described as “statement number five” calling for a “second wave of revolution.” On that day, there were clases in Cairo and other governorates between security forces and protesters who chanted anti-police and anti-army slogans while firing flames and fireworks, according to Youm7.
