The National Alliance to Support Legitimacy urged citizens to revolt against the military-backed government in a statement published on their official Facebook page on Wednesday. The National Alliance to Support Legitimacy urged citizens to revolt against the military-backed government in a statement published on their official Facebook page on Wednesday.

The alliance set the moment for the new revolution in the symbolic period from Jan. 25 until Feb. 11, the same days people protested at Tahrir Square in 2011 against former President Hosni Mubarak. Their gatherings will mainly take place in Greater Cairo, as they consider this the heart of the revolution, the statement read.

The alliance values whoever apologizes for his mistakes; it will revolt in the face of the “coup authorities whose hands are attained with blood” and will face police and armed forces to purify from corruption, according to the statement.

The coalition of various Islamist parties opposing the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi further asked foreign countries to support their revolution. The statement urged revolutionaries to stick to “God’s religion” and “defend it in the face of the blood stained military coup.” It also addressed members of Al-Azhar and the Coptic Orthodox Church to support this revolution.

Al-Azhar and the Church were a part of the move on July 3rd led by the military to remove Morsi from the presidency.
