Reform and Development Party, headed by Mohamed Anwar Sadat, invited the Coptic Church to cancel the New Year celebrations in order to avoid the potential terrorist attacks.
This call comes after Mansoura Security Directorate was bombed last week causing several injuries and deaths.
On the other hand, the party invited the police to raise the degree of alert to secure Coptic churches and monasteries.
