(CNN) -- Poland will hold elections on June 20 to elect a successor to Lech Kaczynski, who died in a plane crash earlier this month, the press office of the country's parliament said Wednesday.
Elections were originally scheduled for the fall.
Acting President Bronislaw Komorowski has said he will be a candidate.
Kaczynski's plane crashed in bad weather near Smolensk in western Russia on April 10.
Ninety-five others died in the crash, including Kaczynski's wife, top military leaders and dignitaries.
