The Coptic people of Tima bid farewell to Father Yassa Abdul Massieh who served a priest of St. Anba Shenouda El-Sawy Church for 32 years. The late father who died at the age of 61 was mourned by Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria.

The observatory said that the members of the terrorist group pretend to be bios and following the rules of Islam, but they are far from this. Statement of the observatory said that they insult Islam and Islamic communities in the West by such practices.

A group of tourists from Germany visited the tourist attractions in Minya including Pharonic sites and Christian monasteries. Qassim Hussein, governor of Minya, said that the governorate has many tourist potentials and archaeological areas, and enjoy security and stability.

Youth of the Coptic Churches in the Diaspora visited the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ and the Al-Fateh Al-Alim Mosque in the new administrative capital. This came after they concluded the ‘Serve and be Joyful’ conference during which they served a number of villages, elderly and orphans. 150 young men and women, most of whom participated last year in the First World Week of Coptic Orthodox Church Youth from all over the world, participated in the conference.

More than 10 thousands participants of different ages attended ‘In His Image’ festival in Tima diocese. Bishop Ishaq of Tima led the celebrations organized by the Bible House. The festival started last Thursday and lasted for three consecutive days.

Two Ethiopians and Eritreans in Egypt celebrated the feast of St. Takla Haymanot in his church in Zagazig. Thousands of the Coptic people participated in the celebrations and praises led by HG Bishop Timothyus of Zagazig.

Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khesht, President of Cairo University, congratulated the Copts on the feast of the Virgin Mary calling it a feast for all Egyptians. On his official page on Facebook, he added that the Egyptian have one nation and they need to protect it by all means.

Minya Diocese mourned Youssef Ebid, a 4 year old child who was killed while traveling to attend church at the nearest village. The child was hit by a tractor while he was waiting for a but to take him with his friends to the church since his village is deprived from churches. It is worth mentioning that 50 villages in Minya diocese don t have churches and the Copts in them have to travel to the nearest church, which causes similar accidents every now and then.

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, ordained Tamav Basilia as head of the monastery of the Virgin Mary in Haret Zewaila. The ordination ceremony was attended by Bishops Tomas, Daniel, Raphael, Danial, Thodosious, and Markos.

Former MP leader Dr. Tharwat Kharabawy said that he realized that true religion of God can t incite killing, but the call of the devil. He added in a post on his Facebook page that religion of God calls us to invite people and discuss with them peacefully, but Satan uses magic and violates all rights to make its followers slaves rather than setting them free.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II ordained 24 new nuns at the monastery of Prince Tadros in old Cairo. The ordination ceremony was attended by Bishop Daniel of Maadi, Bishop Rafael the General Bishop of the Churches of downtown Cairo, St. Julius the General Bishop of the Churches of Old Cairo, and St. Marcus Bishop of Damietta and Kafr El-Sheikh.

During his meeting with ministers of Alexandria, Pope Tawadros II denied the existence of divisions in the HolySynod. Pope added that there are many ideas and discussions, but there is no divisions since each member is responsible and completely reliable.

7 New nuns were ordained today at the Monastery of St. George in Old Cairo. The ordination ceremony was headed by Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See.

St. Mary monastery in Dronka, Assiut, celebrated the fasting of the Virgin and started its annual celebration on that occasion. Hundreds of thousands of the Coptic people are visiting the monastery to attend the celebrations that will end on August 21.
